Dear Hughes Supporters,

It’s time to sign the official Hughes Natural Area petition!

We need your help to conserve Hughes, once and for all, as a protected City Natural Area.

Many of you have pledged support for signing the petition to protect Hughes open space as a City Natural Area, and you have said you might help us with the important task of signature gathering.

Our first drop-in petition signing is on Earth Day 🌍, Tuesday 4/22/2025, at Avo’s (Avogadro’s Number, 605 S. Mason St), from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Additionally, we will be training anyone interested in helping us gather signatures.

This official citizen petition is truly grassroots Democracy in action, and we can’t do this without YOU. We need your help. You can ensure your voice is heard by signing the petition, and by helping us gather signatures to reach our 10,000 goal!

At a time when the very survival of our public lands is being threatened, it is vital that we protect publicly-owned open lands right here in our local community while we can.
