💚 Last Weekend to Sign! What Signing Means for Hughes and the Community.

Hello Friends and Neighbors!

There are just a few days left to collect signatures to put a protected & preserved Hughes Natural Area on the ballot for voters to decide on. Volunteers are nearing the signature goal, and they need YOUR signature.

A successful petition would simply allow voters to have a voice on the final step in the community's long-held vision to preserve & protect Hughes for ALL members of our community, and for our local wildlife that are increasingly threatened as development pressures accelerate in our City.

71% of City Natural Areas acres exist outside of Fort Collins city limits & require a car to visit. We already have dedicated tax dollars for land acquisition and restoration. And, Hughes is already funded. Let’s make Hughes a new City Natural Area close to where our residents and taxpayers live, work, and play, and where we can mitigate habitat fragmentation and loss for foothills wildlife.

In 2021, voters successfully 𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗗 and 𝗔𝗖𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 Hughes for 𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙡𝙮-𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙙 open space. Voters should also have a say on the third and final step of the community’s vision to 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧 Hughes as a Natural Area for all. No matter your stance, please sign the grassroots petition soon.
