📌 Did you know there are TWO conflicting Hughes measures on this year’s ballot?
📌 Measure 303 is the long-held community vision to preserve & protect Hughes as a 100% Natural Area.
📌 Measure 2H is City Council’s last-minute “multiuse” giveaway that will carve up & develop Hughes for special interests.
A Vote for 303 means:
✅ A 100% guarantee for Hughes' future as a 100% protected Natural Area
✅ Democracy & community voices over political interests
✅ Free, accessible, low-impact recreation - hiking, biking, birding, stargazing, disc golf, sledding
✅ Expanded conservation of foothills-to-plains habitat for local wildlife
✅️ NO NEW TAXES: Natural Areas funding already exists
✅️ Low-impact uses that align with the 2021 citizen ballot measure
A Vote for 2H means:
❌ ZERO guarantee for Hughes' future or for ANY Natural Area at Hughes
❌ High-impact bike skills park limited to small subset of users that can afford to participate
❌ Private permanent buildings, offices, visitor center; restricted public access, possible entrance fees
❌ Undefined large-scale development that taxpayers will be expected to fund
❌ Carving up of Hughes into "multiuse" zones fragments landscape & harms wildlife
❌ Heavy-impact uses that do NOT align with the 2021 citizen ballot measure
✅ PLEASE VOTE YES on 303 **AND**
❌ VOTE NO on 2H
